Communication options

There are multiple ways to communicate with Cargo Office:

  • To Cargo Office or from Cargo Offic.
  • By using automated or manual services.
  • Through actions of machines, devices or humans.

Connections to Cargo Office Applications

  • EDI messages
    Cargo Office offers:
    • Standard EDI formats
    • Standard transport methods
    • Standard update formats
    • Lots of different output formats for TMS and FMS
      E.g.: Exact, Fortras, GMT, ILN, Interchain, LPtrans, Nachon, Parsis, Plan & Go, Quickbooks/Reckon Accounts, Road Runner, Snelstart, Talis, Twinfield, Ware Runner, Xero.
      Keep in mind, these formats are "such as", often based on the settings of the receiving party. Implementation could take extra programming, depending on the requests of the receiving application.
    • Hundreds of custom made EDI parsers.
      These can be based on rare logical files, but also on Edifact, DESADV, HANMOV, IFCSUM, IFTMIN. We often consider this work as special EDI formats.
  • On Board Computers
  • Mobile data terminals like PDA's, smartphones, tablets, etc
    • Default functionality is available for implementation
    • If your question path is different from Cargo Office default set up, on request we could create additional programs
  • Apps
    • Cargo Office programmers have developed multiple custom made apps.
    • If a specific app is desired, sent Cargo Office programmers an outline or specifications of your wishes.

Connections to Cargo Office Users

Cargo Office is able to inform different types of users, e.g.: consignees, drivers, customers, etc.

  • Status code actions
    There are different options to communicate through actions: execute a program, send a message, use dynamic database fields, see description of status code actions.
  • Messages to drivers
    There are different options to sent messages:
  • SMS or text messages
    • Your text message can be sent to any SMS account of your choice.
    • Your message can be sent at any moment of status change or scheduled action.
    • Your message can be filled with any order detail available inside Cargo Office.
    • Costs involved for the use of the SMS application are a set-up fee and a monthly fee.
      After a certain amount of messages, the price per message becomes less.
      The amount of sent messages are visible in your Cargo Office reporting environment.

  • Twitter Twitter messages
    When using Twitter, Cargo Office is able to sent direct messages.
    • Your message can be sent to any Twitter account of your choice.
    • Your message can be sent at any moment of status change or scheduled action.
    • Your message can be filled with any order detail available inside Cargo Office.
    • Costs involved for the use of a Twitter application are a set-up fee and a monthly fee.
      Roughly it's half of the costs of SMS-messages.
      The amount of sent messages will become visible in your Cargo Office reporting environment.
