Nodes Maintenance

Content:

Where to find

  • The Dispatch System is in your Backoffice -> Dispatch -> Drivers and:
    Backoffice -> Dispatch -> Groups.

General description of Nodes Maintenance

  • Nodes are used inside the dispatch and mobile system.
  • A node can be a driver, but can also be a vehicle, a device, an equipment part, etc.
  • Every node has an address (email, phone or cardnumber).
  • So it is possible for every node to sent/receive messages to the cargoOffice.
  • Details of nodes can be configured.
  • History of messages can be displayed.

Handling of nodes

Go to node screen

  • You can add nodes or edit existing nodes through the tab 'Drivers' on top of the screen.

Overview of nodes

  • The node screen

  • 1. Overview of all nodes/drivers
  • 2. Overview of all node/driver groups. Each node can be added to a group. Messages can be sent directly to groups (see below: Maintain groups).
  • 3. Overview of all driver codes
  • 4. Overview of all messages
  • 5. Adding a new node
  • 6. The looking glass displays the messages of this particulair node.
    • type 0 are outgoing messages
    • type i are incoming messages
    • If no messages are displayed check the node setting, if "show messages" is selected.
  • 7. Column of all existing nodes
  • 8. Type of node
  • 9. Check if this node is marked as a dispatch node
  • 10. The group to which a particulair node is linked.
  • 11. The node address (this could be an email adddress or phone address)
  • 12. The card address of a PDA
  • 13. The last message which was sent/received.

Add or modify nodes

  • By using the [add node] button you can add new drivers.
  • By using the edit button you can modifing existing node details.

  • 1. Node name. Note: This does not have to be a driver. It can also be a car or a boardcomputer.
  • 2. Decide if this node is a Dispatchnode.
Dispatch nodes are displayed as node inside the dispatch (planning board) screen.
  • 3. Select the type of node.
For PDA's you do not need an address but a card number, so the cargoOffice can recognise the correct node.
It does not matter which value it is as long as it is numeric and unique for all other nodes inside your cargoOffice.
  • 4. If you created groups before, you can link a node with a group.
Note: it could save you time when you sent 1 message to a group of different users.
To create groups go to: Backoffice -> Dispatch -> Groups or click the groups-button.
  • 5. Decide if you want the messages of this node to be visible fron the node screen (see above: 6)
  • 6. The address of this node.
    • For email: fill in an emailaddress, i.e. me@mycompany.com
    • For phones: Fill in the international number, i.e. +31620812746. The first two digists(31) are representing your international code.
  • 7. Description of this node.

Maintain groups

  • Nodes can be added to groups.

  • 1. Edit this group.
  • 2. Name/Description of this group.
  • 3. Other buttons of the dispatch system.
  • 4. Sorting of groups.
  • 5. Add a new group.
  • 6. When selecting one or more groups, specified actions can be triggered.
E.g.: sending mail to every user of this group (see below: How to send messages).

How to send messages

  • You can also sent messages from the drivers screen. In the example as shown below, a message is sent to a group of user. For single users the method is the same.
