Welcome to the Freecargo Project

The Freecargo Project is an open exchange of technology and information for logistic software. Visitors will find ready to use logistic software and developers will find a large community of logistic companies interested in their software.

Free software and Licenced software

Much of the software found within The Freecargo Project is Free Software and therefore free to study, copy, modify, reuse, share and redistribute. We are convinced that every developer can do a better job by studying Free Software before starting their own project. For more information on Free Software visit the Free Software Foundation at http://www.fsf.org.
There is also a lot of licensed software available from The Freecargo Project. Unfortunately not everything is free. It depends on the developer whether a piece is software is free or not free. Licensed software is often highly specialized software and goes into areas where Free Software doesn't go.

Web-based

All software is web based and ready to use, just like the original Freecargo Freight Exchange. Any logistics company can start using the software today and offer simple solutions to their customers within hours. Please note that some functions require a contribution to be made, like for instance the sms messaging system to communicate with drivers.
If you have your own IT department and run your own servers then you can run the software yourself. What you need is a so called LAMP server (Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP). For further instructions and downloads contact the Freecargo Registry.
